How this is calculated

Your export never leaves your browser.The CSV is read with the browser's own FileReader and parsed in the page. There is no upload endpoint on this path — nothing is transmitted, and nothing is stored.
The CSV audit uses the real engine. Uploaded rows run through the same calculation the connected product uses. The quick estimate is a separate, simpler formula — it is modelled from the three numbers you type, not measured — but it applies the same recovery-rate assumption, so neither path can promise more than Backstop actually does.
One stated assumption. We assume a tuned recovery flow claws back 50% of failed payments. Well-run dunning typically lands between 40% and 70%; we use the low-mid point so the figure under-promises. Everything else is counted from your own rows.
